Chloe & the Steel Strings is a cosmic Americana band from Toledo, Ohio, creating a new generation of psychedelic folk-rock for dreamers and music lovers everywhere.

Led by husband-and-wife songwriters Chloe and Connor Ward, the band is built on a leap of faith: after turning down medical school, Chloe chose a life in music instead, and brought her band of kindred spirits along for the ride.

Chloe’s smoky, powerful vocals and Connor’s smooth, melodic basslines anchor a sound that’s equal parts country, folk, blues, and rock. With a trippy, nostalgic shimmer, soaring guitar runs, electric keys and organ, and punchy, danceable drums, the Steel Strings fill out a live show audiences have described as “magnetic,” “soulful,” and “full of personality.”

Since their 2017 self-titled debut, the band has released two studio albums: Burn Bright (2022), and Never Coming Back (2025), and one live album: Harvest in Harmony (2023) which have been called “the most stunning and beautiful Americana rooted recordings to come out of the area in years,” (Alan Goldsmith, The View from Nowhere Radio).

Chloe & the Steel Strings has shared stages with Greensky Bluegrass, Peter Rowan, Del McCoury, The Infamous Stringdusters, Yonder Mountain String Band, Sam Bush, Melvin Seals & Jerry Garcia Band, Ekoostik Hookah, and Girl Named Tom.

Notable Accomplishments: Country Concert (2027), Grassfire Festival (2026), Black Swamp Arts Festival (2025), Back Home Festival (2023), Ohio Paw Paw Festival (2023), Hookahville Music Festival (2022), Best of Toledo “Best Original Band” (2024 runner up), and an all-original collaboration with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra (2025).
